Each battery pack requires a BMS to monitor the voltage of the battery pack and increase the service life of the battery pack.
Provide protection against overcharge/over discharge/over current, short circuit, over temperature, etc...

Good service from Hikadi

8x 18650 batteries arrived and tested on ZKE ap20 unit. mAh values ca 1100mAh vs spec 1500, but this is a conservative use range 90-10%. Of concern is the steep but flat discharge curve 4V-2V, which allows an easy SOC gauge but means a 4:drop in power to an appliance (or an EV). A booster cct may be needed to offset this (currently under test). Nevertheless, increased safety and very long life 10,000 cycles are attractive. Cost ca 4x Lion but will come down. No doubt chemistry will improve - but so will Lifepo. Probably find use in Power storage for it 20 year lifespan.
