Good, safe batteries but limited options for DIY

The batteries are great - as described, follow real Na-Ion curve. Great to get started with the tech.

The problems begin when one wants to use them in relatively low power DIY projects, for example power banks. There are currently no suitable chargers or protection circuit chipsets on the market that would allow to incorporate these into projects.

Because the cut off voltage is 1.5V low and 4.1 high, there are no suitable chips to use with these (e.g. TP4056 for Li-ion goes from 2.5V to 4.2V). Same goes for dedicated protection circuits - nothing with these voltages available.

The only option is to use a CCCV DC-DC converter and purchase a BMS from Hakadi (the only one on the market), but these are generally too large to be incorporated into small electronics projects. It's also not possible to replicate these since they use proprietary chips with no publicly available datasheets. Additionally, the minimum number of cells in a string for these BMS's is 4S (12V nominal) which is not suitable for 5V projects without introducing efficiency losses.

All in all - the batteries are good but the supporting products are lacking. They are fine for experimenting with single cells or building a big & safe power storage (e.g. for Solar) but pretty much useless for anything in between. I would wait with getting into Na-Ion chemistry until the technology is more mature.

I purchased 4 x 18650 Sodium Ion batteries simply out of curiosity, on test they lived up to their specifications.
I will try some of their 10ah Sodium Ion batteries next time.

na-ion akku 1,5Ah

I have tested the akku for a short, and it works fine. I missed a note telling some data about the akku. Luckily I found a youtube with the missing data.

DIY Power Bank

I have used you batteries to make a DIY Power Bank [the cases available on the internet-you supply your own batteries] for charging cell phones. They work fine in this application. Work just as well as the 18650 and fit in the Bank Case just as well as the Lithium 18650 batteries.. Nice to know I have a safer Power Bank.
